Portraits of Grace Ladies Ministry
There is no doubt about it. Our church could not survive without our ladies. Not only do they enable our men to be mighty, but they enhance every ministry of our church with their willing hearts and tireless service. Our ladies ministries at Bible Baptist go by the name Portraits of Grace. It is the goal of our ladies ministries to help each woman be a portrait or model of the grace of God at home, in the church and in our world.
Our ladies at Bible Baptist are very active in the exciting work God has given us here. Each year, the ladies get together at the Annual Planning Breakfast where they receive a new handbook for the year and begin planning their calendar of events. Each lady is also asked to participate and assigned to our service teams where they can work together to help tackle any project that comes their way.
Once a month, the Portraits of Grace meet together for fellowship, games and devotions. They carry out a fun monthly theme and enjoy a Monday evening together. Every Tuesday, Portraits of Grace holds a S.A.L.T. Ladies Bible Study at 9:30 am and 7 pm. This S.A.L.T. (Studying and Learning Together) Bible Study gives the ladies an opportunity to explore God’s Word and apply it with the distinct perspective of a woman. Portraits of Grace also organizes smaller fellowship groups by life stage. These groups meet regularly for activities and a time of refreshment for each lady.
Each year, our church hosts an area-wide conference for women with skits, uplifting music, a dynamic theme, and special guest speakers. In addition to this, our ladies plan and participate in several programs during the year that prove to be wonderful opportunities for strengthening their walk with the Lord and getting to know each other better. It may be during a particular season or holiday or planned just because they enjoy being together.
For those ladies that may be raising children, we began our H.O.M.E. ministry. H.O.M.E. stands for Helping Our Mothers Excel. H.O.M.E. is a play date for mom and her children. Whether they go out or stay in, at the park or in the church building, this group of ladies gets relief once a month as they come together for Bible study, crafts, sharing recipes, working through their children’s struggles and sharing in small victories. It is encouraging to see so many ladies working together for the glory of God. We invite you to search for a place to get connected in this wonderful ministry.
