What to Expect on Your First Visit
We understand that visiting any church for the very first time can be a stressful experience.
The following questions may be a few that come to your mind. We want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Bible Baptist Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your entire family. Our desire is that you experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”!
Here are just a few answers to some questions about what you might expect on your first visit.
Where Are You Located?
Bible Baptist Church is located at 280 Riviere Road in Palm Harbor, FL. Our church is easily accessible from US 19. The church is located a quarter mile west of US 19 between Nebraska Avenue and Tampa Road. Traveling north on US 19, turn left on Tampa Road for a quarter mile and take your first right onto Riviere Road. Bible Baptist Church is located on your right after a few hundred feet and is easily identified by our signage and large flag pole. Click on the Contact Us link at the upper right hand corner to see a map of our location. From that page you can also get printable directions by following the directions link located on the map.
Where Do I Park?
If you are visiting with us, there are parking spaces available for you right in front of the church. We would invite you to park in the marked for visitor spaces. If you are looking for handicapped parking, you may want to utilize one of these spaces located conveniently in the front parking area. You also may choose to drop off someone who needs assistance or part of your family underneath the portico and then make your way behind the church for additional parking.
What Should I Wear?
There is not a dress code at Bible Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Bible Baptist!
What Time Do I Show Up?
Our Abundant Life Adult Bible Classes and Sunday School begins at 9:30 am. Please plan to arrive in time to find your class and fellowship with us, as we provide coffee and doughnuts prior to the morning classes. The Morning Worship service begins at 10:30 am, immediately after the Abundant Life Adult Bible Classes and Sunday School time.
What’s Here For My Children?
The children and youth of Bible Baptist are our priority, so you can be at ease knowing they are in a safe and loving environment. For those of you with infants, please bring your children into our Nursery just off of our main foyer near the entrance to the sanctuary. Children who are in our Beginner’s Church (ages 3-6) and Children’s Church (ages 7-11) will meet in classrooms located on the North side of our building.
During each of our worship services at Bible Baptist, there are exciting activities and learning opportunities for infants through 6th grade. They will learn the Word of God and experience His love through music, games, puppets, and Bible lessons.
Our Junior High and Senior High school students enjoy time with their friends in our Vapor Teen Ministries Sunday School Class. The teens will then join their parents and the rest of the adults in the main sanctuary for the Morning Worship Service.
Where Do I Go?
Just inside of our Main Entrance and the South Entrance you will find a Welcome Center where one of our Greeters will gladly direct your family to the right place for worship. There is always someone available to assist you and your child with finding your way to the class that is right for them.
What Do I Bring?
Many members and guests find that it’s easier and more fulfilling to participate in Bible study when they have their own copy of the Bible with them during worship so that they can underline or highlight particular verses for later study. If you do not own your own copy of God’s Word, you will find a copy to use in the pew rack next to the hymnbooks. To ensure you can have the greatest growth in Christ through Bible teaching, detailed points from the sermon are given during the message and note taking is encouraged. Many people find it helpful to have a notebook where they can easily locate practical tips from recent messages.
What Are the Worship Services Like?
Learning God’s Word and worshiping our Lord are the priorities in our worship services! We gather together each week to worship God as a family and to express to Him our love, our thanks, and our devotion. Come be our guest as we worship the Lord together and learn how to be and do all that God wants us to.
Our worship services are a wonderful opportunity to worship the Lord in our vibrant yet traditional services. Bible Baptist’s choir ministers through song and there are also a variety of soloists and small groups that bring special selections as offerings of praise to our Lord. Members of Bible Baptist also worship through prayer, giving, and Bible study, which is led by Senior Pastor, Jason Wiley.
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We don’t invite you to Bible Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest. We ask that you fill out the visitors card in our Welcome Packet entitled, Let’s Get Acquainted and place it in the offering plate as it is passed.
